ZUMBA® WOLVES DANCE FITNESS CLASSES

Zumba® dance fitness is an exercise opportunity that is fun for everybody and every body!

We dance to high energy music from a wide variety of dance genres including pop, latin, reggaeton, hip hop, bhangra and afrobeats. Low-intensity and high-intensity moves are mixed together for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. You'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. This is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of happy vibes each time you leave class.

Your licensed Zumba® instructor will be Naomi Wolfe for the Friday night classes targeted towards adults, and she teams up with her brother Adrian to team-teach Zumba Kids® on Thursday afternoons (as part of Aranda Primary School’s Music and Arts Program). Together Naomi and Adrian are called the Zumba® Wolves.

Kids-only classes: Thursdays 3.15pm - 4.15pm

Further info: Zumba® dance fitness aims to offer an inclusive and welcoming space, where you will make new friends as you boogie your way back to fitness. Bolt Bar is great but lacking a dance floor, so a community-building Friday night Zumba® dance party might be just the thing Aranda needs to rejuvenate the nightlife. We will also organise some upstairs get-togethers after class to get to know each other even better.

Naomi is passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of Zumba®. In mid 2020 she sought an ACT Health Directorate Mental Health and Wellbeing Grant for some COVID-recovery Queer Zumba to improve social and physical health opportunities. Naomi has been supporting delivery of that project as a volunteer project coordinator for 6 months (on stage and off), racking up 350 hours of Zumba® in just 18 months being taught by one of Canberra’s best instructors. The next step in her personal Zumba® journey was to start up classes to share her Zumba love with her Aranda community. It’s a bit like a local ‘No Lights No Lycra’ - but with lights and lycra and someone helping motivate you to put max energy into your dancing, so you can max out your fitness. But please remember there are no wrong moves in Zumba®  so just work to your level and get creative - the main thing is moving while you let the music help get those endorphins flowing.
